Charles Xie is the founder and CEO of Zilliz, and the inventor of the Milvus vector database system. He is currently a board member of LF AI & Data Foundation, and before that he served as the board's chairperson in 2020 and 2021. Prior to Zilliz, Charles was a founding engineer of the Oracle 12c cloud database project. Charles holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
