Job Scheduling used to be complex. Today, a handful of clicks and a few lines of code get you a (Kubernetes) cluster managed by your favorite cloud provider. And with that, you're one keypress away from pulling in containerized workloads you don't have appropriate visibility into and control over. In this talk, Kerim shows patterns for securing workflows that entities outside your organization govern. Kerim explains what signals to look for when selecting an external provider and how to vet binaries in a sustainable and automated way. Attendees can expect to learn what open-source tooling is available to them, how it helps to take back control, and what strategies work most effectively. Post-talk, attendees can experiment with the underlying code of the talk, which is available through GitHub. All tools used for this talk are available as open-source software (Kubernetes, Nomad, etc.) or at no cost (GitHub Free).
